Today, The Ministry of Information and Strategy led by Comrade Ini Ememobong received the Team Leader, faculty members and participants of the Strategic Management and Policy Studies Course 3/2020 from the Nigerian Army Resource Center, Abuja.

The team was led by Maj. Gen. JO Akomolafe and their theme is “Policies for Sustainable Growth and Survival of SMEs in Nigeria”.

They were taken through the philosophical underpinnings of the the 5-Point agenda which transitioned into the Completion Agenda and the programmes flowing therefrom, under the Small and Medium Enterprises pillar. Highlights from the Ibom 3,000 Project, MEGP, 2Billion Naira interest free loans to traders and SMEs, training of youths in installation and repairs of renewable energy equipment among other programmes.

They were pleased to know that there is a database of SMEs in the state. The total number of registered SMEs according to the SSA to the Governor on SMEs (Mrs Janet Amba) as at the end of Q1,2021, stands at 11,990 with uyo senatorial district having 40%, Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District 33% and Eket Senatorial District has 28%.

The guests expressed their happiness with the serenity of the capital city and the general peaceful ambience of Akwa Ibom state. They commended the State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel for vigorously pushing his industrialization drive and supporting the growth of the SMEs.
