The Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State has declared a state of emergency on education, revealing that everything in life, including his completion Agenda is a proper sub-set of Education, And has vowed to provide The Akwa Ibom Child all it takes to give him an “educational edge”.

Advising the youths to take advantage of the Government’s provisions for indigenes with Special skills capable of advancing the state Technologically, made available  at the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Governor reminded all of the dividend  of hard work and bountiful profit in humility.

Representing the Governor at the inauguration of about 35 Inter-ministerial Direct Labour Coordinating Committee’s intervention projects in Abak and Etim Ekpo local government areas held at the Church of Jesus Christ Community Secondary school, Atai Otoro, Abak, where a double 4classroom blocks had been gifted, the Honorable Commissioner for Science and Technology Dr. Imoh Moffat thanked the people for their unflinching support for his Administration, assuring them that their labour love has not gone unnoticed.
Dr Moffat advised all sons and daughters of the state to take advantage of the open window to register for their National Identity Number which comes to a close on the 30th of June 2021, informing them that the present national distribution formula which is based on the outdated 2006 population Census is not the best for our geo-political zone.

In a welcome address, the Interministerial direct labour Coordinating committee Boss, Prince Sampson Idiong Appreciated the people of Abak and Etim Ekpo for providing peaceful Environments which promoted the  professional and speedy completion of IMDLCC projects chosen for inauguration as well as ongoing projects. He acknowledged their support for the Udom Emmanuel administration and promised more life changing projects courtesy, the  Committee. 

In their goodwill messages, the chairman of Abak Rt. Hon. Ekerette Inyang and of Etim Ekpo local government area, Hon. Imoh Affia extolled the Governor for delivering on his campaign promises and like Oliver Twist asked for more for their people while praying for the rest of his tenure to be peaceful and more prosperous.

Passing a vote of confidence on the Governor, the house member representing Abak state constituency Hon. Udeme Otong and his counterpart representing Etim Ekpo/Ika Rt. Hon. Mfon Idung relayed their people’s satisfaction with his leadership style in the last six years and prayed long life, wisdom and prosperity for him. They also thanked the Governor for approving their constituency project, pledged their loyalty and that of their constituents to him.

Also gracing the events were the Hon. Commissioner for Economic Development and Ibom deep seapot, Mr Akan Okon, the Hon commissioner for Works and Fire Service, Prof. Eno Ibanga, the Hon. commissioner for Information and strategy Comrd. Ini Ememobong. The SSA to the Governor on SDGs Ntufam Elijah Iyak, The pioneer SA, Basic Education Mrs Ekemini Umoh, council councillors, village heads of Atai Otoro ,Chief Ikpeh Udofia. The Principal, Mrs Pauline Uboh. Village heads, political stakeholders, staff and student of the host School and well meaning Akwa ibomites.
