…as youths, women, Political stakeholders eulogize Gov. Emmanuel

In fulfilment of his campaign promises of massively transforming rural Communities, the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel on Monday, inaugurated over 40 projects in Nsit Atai and Ibesikpo Asutan Local government areas of Akwa Ibom State.

Some of the projects Instituted and completed by interministerial/direct labour cordinating Committee (IMDLCC), State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and inaugurated today by the Akwa Ibom State Government include, renovation/construction of Classroom blocks, Renovation/extension of Assembly halls, solar powered boreholes, Offices in schools, Civic Centers, Health Centers, amongst others

Speaking during the inauguration at Ibesikpo Asutan LGA, the Governor who spoke through the Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Mr Nsikan Nkan appreciated the people of Ibesikpo Asutan LGA for the support accorded his administration in the past 6 years.

Speaking further at the event held at the Community Secondary Commercial school Iwawa Usung Eket, the State Chief executive despite having industrialization as the major focus of his completion agenda, restated his commitment towards educational advancement and infrastructural development in rural Communities. While reassuring on even distribution of projects across all communities, the Governor admonished Community leaders, Women and youths to guard and jealously protect all projects initiated and completed by the Government.

In Nsit Atai LGA, the Honourable Commissioner for Housing, Hon Otuekong Raphael who represented the Governor, also appreciated the good people of Nsit Atai for being great partners of industrialization drive and completion agenda of Governor Emmanuel – led administration.

The Political leader of the area who recalled that the Nigerian Vice President had visited Nsit Atai twice to campaign for the All Progressive Congress, APC, seized the opportunity to applaud the people of Nsit Atai for their believe and trust in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, ably led by Governor Emmanuel. Calling on the people to remain loyal to the PDP, Otuekong Raphael reassured the people of Nsit Atai of more dividends of democracy in the remaining two years of Gov. Udom Emmanuel.

Earlier, the special Assistant to the Governor on interministerial and direct labour, Prince Sampson Idiong, while setting the tone, thanked the Governor for initiating, funding and ensuring the completion of the projects. Prince Idiong who maintained that the projects to be inaugurated were Instituted in the past one year, promised to also deliver all ongoing projects hadled by his office for inauguration.

In their respective goodwill messages, the Member representing Ibesikpo Asutan state Constituency, Rt Hon Aniekan Uko and his counterpart from Nsit Atai, Rt Hon Mark Esset, appreciated Governor Emmanuel for demonstrating professionalism in the management of resources that has acrued to the state in the past 6years.

The former speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly fondly called Iboroakam, particularly applauded Governor Emmanuel for constructing the Ring road 3 and siting the Dakada tower (21 storey building) in Ibesikpo Asutan LGA. Rt Hon Uko however, promised to continuously support Governor Emmanuel untill 2023 and beyond.

Speaking during their espective welcome addreses, the Executive Chairman of Nsit Atai, Rt Hon Emem Ibanga and her counterpart in Ibesikpo Asutan LGA, Hon Akon Asukwo, expressed satisfaction with the leadership style of Governor Emmanuel. While thanking the Governor for the projects, they however, promised to ensure that the projects inaugurated are protected from destruction.

Some of the projects of interministerial direct labour coordinating committee inaugurated at Ibesiu Asutan LGA include, construction of classroom block at Iwawa Usung Eket, 4 classroom blocks 1 and2 in Primary School, Akpautong, 4 classroom block at Primary School, Ikot Akpabin, 2 classroom blocks A and B at Primary School, Ikot Enua, 4 Classroom blocks A and B at holy Child School, Ikot Ebre, 4 classroom block at Primary School, Ikot Ohio Nko and other 18 projects constructed by UBEC/AKSG SUBEB.

Projects inaugurated in Nsit Atai LGA include, classroom block at Methodist Primary School, Ikot Akpabio, classroom block at Primary School, Otu Abiyan, renovation/extension of 3-4 classroom blocks at Community Secondary School, Essien Itiaba, 4 Classroom blocks at Ikot Asua, Assembly Hall at Secondary School, Ikot Akpan Ike and 8 other projects by SUBEB.

Prominent dignitaries in attendance include, Commissioner for information and strategy, Comr. Ini Ememobong, Commissioner for works and fire service, Prof Eno Ibanga, Commissioner’s for Women Affairs and social welfare, Dr Ini Adiakpan Commissioner for Power and Patroleum, Dr John James, Commissioner for Rural development, Mrs Enobong Mbobo, Commissioner’s for local government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Rt Hon. Frank Archibong, SSA on Sustainable Development Goals, Ntufam Elijah, Special Assistants to the Governor, Political stakeholders from the two LGAs, Royal Fathers, religious leaders, women, youths, Teachers and Students of all Schools visited.
