The President of the Nigeria Medical Association, NMA, Prof(Dr) Innocent Ujah has lauded the Akwa Ibom State Government for its efforts in mitigating the ravages of the COVID-19 pandemic in the state.
Prof Ujah, who is also the Vice Chancellor, Federal University Health Services, Otukpo in Benue State, stated this, during an interview on Update Akwa Ibom, the flagship radio programme of the Ministry of Information and Strategy.
He said that the proactive measures put in place by the Governor Udom Emmanuel led administration has gone a long way to mitigate the dreadful impacts of the pandemic,which has taken a toll on humanity.
He advised Citizens to eschew pessimistic tendencies towards the existence of the COVID-19 virus and encouraged the continued adherence to NCDC Guidelines.
The NMA President, noted that Akwa Ibom has been blessed with good leadership which has contributed greatly to its impactful growth and development.
Prof Ujah who is presently leading a team of the Nigerian Medical Association to Akwa Ibom State to endorse the Jubilee Syringes said Governor Emmanuel has repositioned Akwa Ibom as a prime destination of choice for investments and that this has attracted a slew of investors which include the Jubilee Syringe Manufacturing Company, and advised other State Governors to imitate the developmental strides taking place in the state.
He expressed satisfaction with the quality of the Jubilee Syringes which he noted has undergone rigorous testing and has been found worthy of being endorsed by credible organisations such as the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), the Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).
The NMA President who observed that syringes are indispensable to medical facilities and healthy care globally expressed optimism that due to the high quality of the Jubilee Syringes, they will gradually eliminate the need for importation of syringes, boost the health sector, as well as create employment opportunities and wealth generation.
