Executive Chairman, Akwa Ibom State Universal Basic Education Board, Obong Paul Ekpo has stated his commitment to make a difference in his new Office and has charged all to do things that can be traceable to improving the education sector in the State.
Mr. Ekpo who made this statement during his reception and assumption of Office stressed the need for unity, togetherness and oneness adding that God has sent him to SUBEB as a positive partner to start a new course and affect the Board positively.
He said “We are starting a new life of unity and oneness. If we are not united, we will not be able to inject the call of emergency we need in our education sector with basic education which is the foundation of all forms of education”.
He thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel for the privilege through God to serve and deliver positive results as expected and prayed for God’s grace and peace to carry out his assignment successfully.
Speaking earlier, the Permanent Secretary SUBEB, Elder Ezekiel Umoh while welcoming the new Chairman and Board Members expressed delight and stated that his coming stands as another remarkable day in the anals of the Board and assured that all hands will be on deck to deliver on the core mandates of the Board.
The Director of Social Mobilization who doubles as the Dean of Directors, Mrs. Ammah Israel in her vote of thanks thanked God for the fulfillment of His word “Behold I will do a new thing”, she thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel for setting up the Board and deploying men of proven integrity with enviable public service records. She thanked the Permanent Secretary for holding forth till their arrival and thanked the Board members for accepting the call to service in our basic schools and finally thanked the Director for the spirit of unity and commitment.
