The meeting which was presided by HE the Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel commenced at 11am with the singing of both national and state anthems. Opening prayer was offered by HC-Women Affairs and Social Welfare.

In attendance were HE the Deputy Governor, SSG, Chief of Staff, Head of the Civil Service, Honourable Commissioners and Special Adviser.

A minute of silence was observed in honour of the immediate past HC- Lands and water resources, Arc. Ime Ekpo who died recently.

The Governor directed that the inter-ministerial projects should commence immediately. He charged EXCO members to be alive to their responsibilities in this year as government must achieve all her targets this year. He maintained that projects must be speedily and qualitatively delivered in every sector.

Council approved the immediate disbursement of funds to Major Contractors across the state and directed the HC-Works & Fire Service to ensure that work commences on all the sites immediately.

Council received the report on APICO and directed that the company should be restructured for greater efficiency.

The Reactivation plan for Akwa Palms ltd. was received and deliberated. EXCO demanded expedited action.

The remodeling plan for Ibom plaza was presented by HC-Culture & Tourism. EXCO charged the commissioner to act speedily to meet set target.

Council directed that HC-Education should immediately submit a plan for the institution of a state-wide scholarship for tertiary education .

The draft Environmental beautification Policy was presented by the HC Environment. Council deliberated and stressed the need to keep the environment clean and accepted the policy.

The report of Government/Akwa Ibom State University-Labour Unions meeting was received. Council directed that an ad hoc visitation panel be set up to find a lasting solution to all matters impeding the smooth running of the institution.
